In The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, Breslin had a minor part. She portrayed Kira Bedik, a little child who reminds the mentally ill main character William Keane (Damian Lewis) of his lost, kidnapped daughter, in the indie film Keane. Keane barely had a little theatrical run and only made $394,390 globally, but it got good reviews and Breslin got plaudits for her acting. “The sequences between Mr. Lewis and the adorably vulnerable Kira, wondrously performed by Ms. Breslin, offer a fascinating humanity to the picture,” Meghan Keane of The New York Sun observed.
