Chetan Bhagat is an Indian author and columnist. He is 48 years old as of the year 2022 and he was born on 22nd April 1974 and was born in New Delhi, India. Bhagat was also once included in the Time magazine’s list of the World’s 100 Most Influential People in the year of 2010.

He graduated in mechanical engineering at the IIT of Delhi & also did his PGP at the IIM Ahmedabad. He first started with his career as an Investment banker and left it later after a few years and started his career as a writer.

Chetan Bhagat has written ten novels and three non-fictional books and his first novel named Five Point Someone got published in the year of 2004.

His novels were also adopted and were taken as movies in the Bollywood which include, One Night @ the Call Centre as Hello in the year of 2008, Five Point Someone a 3 Idiots in the year of 2009.

Early life, Family and Relationship

Chetan Bhagat had his childhood in Naraina Vihar, West Delhi. He was born in a traditional middle-class Punjabi Hindu family. His father was a lieutenant colonel in the Indian Army & his mother was a scientist in Indian Agricultural Research Institute New Delhi.

He has his schooling at the Army Public School, Dhaula Kuan. He said that he has been an average student at the age of 15 though he graduated from IIT Delhi as a Mechanical engineer in 1995 with a 9+ pointer.

Chetan Bhagat Success and career

Chetan Bhagat later graduated from the IIM with his Master of Business Administration degree in the year of 1998 and he was placed at Peregrine Investments Holdings in Hong Kong via the campus interview. He lost his job after six months of joining as the company was closing its operations in the year of 1998.

And later of that, he took a job as an investment banker with Goldman Sachs at their Hong Kong office. Though he was unhappy with his boss in the head he stayed in the firm. He had then changed his career to writing with a passion he did every single piece of his work and has his own spot in and on the go.
