Jake Busey was born on June 15, 1971, in Los Angeles, California. His mother, Judy Hulkenberg, was a photographer, and his father, Gary Busey, was a well-known actor in the 1970s and 1980s. He was raised in a family with strong ties to Hollywood. Alectra, his younger sister, is also a family member.
Busey discovered his passion for performing and singing while attending Crossroads School in Santa Monica, California, as a young student. He participated in a number of local bands as a teenager before going on to Santa Monica College to pursue music studies.
