Early Life

Jake Busey was born on June 15, 1971, in Los Angeles, California. His mother, Judy Hulkenberg, was a photographer, and his father, Gary Busey, was a well-known actor in the 1970s and 1980s. He was raised in a family with strong ties to Hollywood. Alectra, his younger sister, is also a family member.

Busey discovered his passion for performing and singing while attending Crossroads School in Santa Monica, California, as a young student. He participated in a number of local bands as a teenager before going on to Santa Monica College to pursue music studies.

Career

Midway through the 1980s, Busey received a supporting role in the movie Straight Time, which marked the start of his acting career. Before he received his breakout part in the science fiction movie Starship Troopers in 1997, he proceeded to land modest roles in movies like Twister and Home Fries. Busey portrayed Private Ace Levy in the movie, a part that earned him popularity among viewers for his peculiar antics. Following Starship Troopers, Busey went on to star in a number of other motion pictures, such as The Frighteners, Contact, and Identity.

Also, he played a recurrent character on the HBO series Carnivàle and made an appearance in the television show Shasta McNasty. Busey has both an acting and musical background. Sons of the Lawless and The Jake Busey Band are just two of the ensembles in which he has performed both guitar and singing. His most recent CD, Through the Cracks, is one of many albums he has produced and released.

In 2012, he has given voice to the very popular video game Spec Ops: The Line as The Radioman and the DJ of Resistance Radio in XCOM 2: War of the Chosen.
