Roald Dahl is an English short-story writer, poet, wartime fighter and a novelist. He was born in Llandaff, Cardiff, Wales, UK; on 13th September of 1916 and he passed away in Llandaff, Cardiff, Wales, UK; on 23rd Nov 1990 owing to his ailment of Blood Cancer. He has been in the Royal Air Force during World War II as a fighter pilot. He once at this work forced a landing in the Libyan Desert and got severely injured during the occasion. He and his siblings were baptised in the Norwegian Church, Cardiff. Another fact about his family is, his grandmother Ellen Wallace is a descendant of an early 18th-century Scotland who immigrated to Norway.

He has been in British schools though he wasn’t having any University education and he wanted to work for Shell Oil Company instead. He has worked there for just a few years and when World War II started he joined the RAF. Then as the war came to an end he got his lifetime of unretiring leisure time of writing.
