Early Life

Thomas Miles was born on May 18, 1967, in Houston, Texas. Thomas Miles studied theatre at Texas A&M University after growing up in Houston, Texas. During his tenure at the university, he actively participated in the drama department and was a member of the fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi. He later moved to Dallas, where he began his career in entertainment.

As a stand-up comedian, Thomas has a devoted fanbase and a reputation for captivating audiences. He served as Luther Vandross’ tour’s sole opening act for three years and acted as the sole Mainstage host for the Essence Festival in New Orleans for seven years, from 2009 to 2016. At Detroit’s renowned Motor City Casino in October 2010, Thomas taped his hour-long program.

Actor Thomas continues to perform for sold-out crowds across the nation as part of his national tour. He is a gifted actor who received his training from the Royal Shakespeare Company of London and Texas A&M University. He has appeared in more than a dozen stage productions.

Thomas has appeared in a variety of movies, including N-Secure and The Heart Specialist with Zoe Saldana from 2011; David Talbert’s Baggage Claim from 2012; Think Like A Man from the same year; and Madea’s Halloween from Tyler Perry in October of 2016.

Thomas hosted the popular dating program Ready to Love on the Oprah Winfrey Network in 2018. Will Packer, one of Hollywood’s biggest hitmakers, produced the show. Thomas is back as Ready To Love’s host in 2019. Thomas visited more than a dozen military facilities in the Middle East in 2011 and 2013 as part of the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff USO Holiday Tour.

While Tommy was a regular cast member of The Steve Harvey Morning Show in the early 2000s, he initially became well-known. In addition to his work on the radio and television, Thomas Miles has also published several comedy albums, including Nephew Tommy’s Prank Phone Calls: Volume 1, Nephew Tommy’s Prank Phone Calls: Volume 2 and Church Folk Must Laugh Too.
