Vera Wang got hired by the Vogue that too as an Editor as soon as she was passed out of Sarah Lawrence College and she became the youngest editor at that magazine. She then stayed in Vogue for seventeen years and left there in 1987 to join Ralph Lauren with whom she worked for two whole years and when she was a forty years old she left the job and had become an independent bridal wear designer.
